MEMBER ASSOCIATION SAFETY AWARDS


Presented annually to a Member Association, the Safety Awards recognize the success of their safety program in local wastewater works. The purpose of the awards is to stimulate effective safety programs and to encourage the collection of injury statistics on a national basis.

Nominations are accepted in three categories:

  • Member Associations with membership of less than 400
  • Member Associations with membership of 400 - 1,000
  • Member Associations with membership of 1,000 or greater

Criteria:

  1. Cooperation with other organizations to promote safety.

  2. Methods used to publicize the safety program.

  3. Safety materials and visual aids used.

  4. Collection and use of injury data.

  5. Wastewater system personnel injury experience for the past 5 years in the area served by the Member Association.

  6. Applications of nomination must be supported by exhibits that document and illustrate the Member Association's safety program.

  • Nomination Form. Contact the WEF Awards manager to obtain the MA Safety Application and Information packet - E-mail: csadusky@wef.org
  • One page biography of the nominee
  • Specific reasons for nomination (one page maximum)
  • Any other supporting material required under Criteria or that you feel would be helpful in the selection process.

Six copies of nomination material should reach the Water Environment Federation Awards Department by April 1.
