THE COLLECTION SYSTEM AWARD


The Collection System Awards are presented for three categories as follows:

  • Individual
  • Large Facility (Facility serving a population of 40,000 or more)
  • Small Facility (Facility serving a population of less than 40,000)

The award consists of a plaque suitably inscribed with the recipient ’s name.

 

Nomination Criteria for the Individual Award
The following will be utilized in evaluating the individual award:

  • Individual must be completing work in Indiana.
  • Individual must be directly involved in collection systems.
  • The nominee’s area of service must have been in any of the following areas:
    • Management
    • Overall planning
    • Operation and maintenance
    • Facility design
    • Education
    • Training
    • Research
  • Documentation and supporting information detailing the individual’s achievements must be provided.

 

Rating Guidelines for Large and Small Facilities Awards
The large and small facilities awards will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

New application of Existing Techniques/Originality/Innovation   30%
Technical Value of Collection System Profession   20%
Social/Economic/Environmental Impact   20%
Complexity   15%
Meeting and Exceeding Goals   15%
  Total 100%


Criteria:

Individual Award Submission Requirements

1. Completed IWEA Nomination Form (Entry Form enclosed).
2. Written description of the individual’s accomplishments and discussion of their contribution to the collection systems field. Reference letters may be provided but are not required.


Large and Small Facility Submittal Requirements

1. Completed IWEA nomination form (Entry Form enclosed).
2. Completed Application for Large or Small Facility Award describing the system and/or projects (Application enclosed).
3. Photographs – include up to six (6) photographs pertinent to the nominated project and include brief written description of each photograph.

 

Submit:

1. Select a category from those listed.
2. Complete the entry form and, if applicable, the application for the large or small facility.
3. Include supplemental materials essential to understanding the nomination.
4. Prepare separate nominations for each facility or person.
5. Mail to: IWEA

Nomination Deadline:

Six (6) copies of nomination material shall be received by the Indiana Water Environment Association office by July of each year.
